Welcome Back to School!
John Choate
Cougar Nation,
Welcome Back!
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer. I also hope you are relaxed, recharged, and ready to start a new school year, and I look forward to working with you and your students. All signs point to another awesome school year. Our skilled and devoted faculty is already planning and preparing for our students. Our office team is registering new families, ordering needed materials, and updating student files. We are indeed an incredible community with the common goals of nurturing responsible student-citizens and promoting high-level learning.
New Staff
Each year brings positive change here at Christoval High School. This includes a few additions to our staff. We are delighted to welcome Kayleigh Bowhay, our new Business DECA teacher; Randy Mitchell, who runs the metal shop; Melissa Pump, who teaches PE/Kinesiology; Brandy Quigley, who is our newest science teacher; Jacob Ward, math teacher; Taylor Watson, English teacher; and Amy Loftin, our newest English, and History teacher.
Facilities Update
Late summer plans include more safety features including numbering doors, adding security cameras, and a new portable building to handle our student population.
Last year’s district-wide safety and security review generated a recommendation that additional surveillance cameras be added to our schools to better monitor ingress and regress. Installation of interior and exterior cameras was completed this year enhancing our ability to record who is on our campus at all times.
To accommodate space and program needs on the campus, an additional portable will be installed that will house the floral design and Agriculture programs.
Again, welcome back to Christoval High School for an outstanding and successful school year. I look forward to seeing each one of you, and I am excited for our student's future success. It remains an honor and privilege to serve as your principal. Please stop by and say hello. Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all children.
Warmest Regards,
John Choate
